Groups

Take action as a group

When you and a group - friends, colleagues, teammates or neighbours - put all your climate change efforts together, you can have a significant impact on the planet. Members of a group can be brand new to the Living Planet Community, or your group can be made up of people who are already charting their climate change actions on the site.

Members of a group take on commitments in their everyday lives and keep track of them on the site. Actions that result in greenhouse gas reductions include walking instead of driving, insulating your home and shopping with reusable bags.

The impact of those actions gets pooled together when you're part of a group - and you can track how well you're all doing by visiting your Group page often to see those collaborative results and get updates from your group leader. As well, on those Group pages, members can chat to keep each other posted on upcoming plans, pass on tips for how to accomplish certain actions and to encourage each other. The site also lets you challenge other groups in a friendly competition.

It's easy to get started. You just need a leader to set up the group and then everyone else can join. The bigger the group, the more you'll help slow climate change.

Helping the planet is important work. But by participating in the Living Planet Community together, it can also be fun.
